Okay, enough is enough. This snakehandler story should be interesting to read for some of you folks. I've run into these practitioners before, seeing as I went to college in southern Virginia, and they all have interesting takes on that curious last portion of Mark 16. Now I'm not going to get into a thing over whether its authentic to the text; no matter the manuscript evidence, it is in the accepted, closed Canon of 66 books. I just wonder how the elders at this church will explain his death to the congregants, who themselves might be handling snakes soon. One of the great problems of the faith healer movement and some more radical Pentecostal sects is their inability to explain such happenings without questioning that person's faith. posted by Preachin Jesus | 1:15 PM | |
