Thursday, April 01, 2004 What would Jesus do?Well I told my wonderful mother about my recent Xbox purchase. She was less than happy; apparently she thinks it is going to sap all my study time. One of her questions was "Would Jesus buy an XBox?" Oh my, she is famous for asking me what "Jesus" would do. When I misbehaved as I was growing up she would ask me what Jesus' mother would have done if He had misbehaved. I would politely remind her that Jesus never misbehaved since He was sinless, and if He did Mary would probably have an anyernism because the Promised One of Israel had just forsaken His divine commission. That would never go over well. Neither would my response that if Joseph had attempted to discipline Jesus, assuming He sinned, that all Jesus would have to say is, "You're not my real father anyways!" and be done with the matter. Now turning away from these semi-heretical thoughts.... I told her that, yeah Jesus would have bought an XBox, and a first person shooter to go with the buy! That would be sort of neat to watch Jesus and His disciples having a LAN party with their XBoxes. They would probably be playing Ghost Recon or SOCOM 2. Though one must wonder whether the disciples would have ever been able to nail Jesus...and if they did would it take His character 3 days to respawn? I guess sneaking up on Him was out of the question too. All that to say I thought it was a pretty silly question from my wonderful mother. :D posted by Preachin Jesus | 12:12 PM | |
