Notes on fishin

I love being back here in Maryland. This morning my father and I ventured out to a quiet, fast running stream located just out of the way here in Harford County. We pulled on our wadders and got out to the middle of the stream where we stood in waist deep water and worked on our fly-fishing. The scene was picturesque with the stream wrapping around a bend, lined with high trees. We stood just upstream from a small rapids area and worked our way along the banks and near some rock collections while we fished. The water was murky, making it hard to see any fish. A hill lifted a quaint house on its side about 400 hundred yards away and the sounds of nature filled our ears.

It was just after 9:30 am when we got out there and we stayed there until 11:15. The day was beginning to warm up as we cast, but the water was still cool and kept us chilled as our wadders clung to our legs. A great time of fellowship and fly-fishing. I truly miss Maryland for a great number of reasons, the scenery was beautiful and it was a perfect day for fishing...even though we got skunked.
