Thursday, September 16, 2004 Dr. Adrian RogersAs many people know by now Dr. Adrian Rogers is retiring from the pulpit of Bellvue Baptist Church. (BPNews.net article here) I have listened to and grown through many of Dr. Roger's excellent sermons over the years. His ministry, Love Worth Finding, has been a wonderful resource for myself and others I know and certainly will continue in this way.  I am excited to see the direction that Bellvue will continue as the transition from one pastor to another occurs.
I still remember the fire that came during Dr. Roger's sermon at LU's Superconference during my sophomore year. He preached powerfully and purposefully while standing strong on the Bible as his authority. His message then still reverberated in my soul and I listen to it often to remind myself what we are called to in this life. I believe that Dr. Rogers is one of the finest expositors to grace a pulpit and he currently remains the "Prince of Preachers" to this day. One of the great reasons for his fine expositional ability is his belief in the Bible the inerrant, authoritative Word of God.
