Thursday, September 16, 2004 Let them go naked I say!In another election year snafu by the soon to be defeated Kerry campaign, they allowed the Democrats' prospective first lady to answer questions from the media again. (Read the article here!) As she toured a relief effort for those devastated by hurricanes in the Caribbean she noticed they were spending too much time packing clothes into their boxes. Her response was: "Clothing is wonderful, but let them go naked for a while, at least the kids," said Heinz Kerry, the wife of Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry. Water is necessary, and then generators, and then food, and then clothes." Yes Teresa, even though your personal net worth could probably rebuild the infrastructure of several of the devastated islands, your keen eye has won the day for you again. Instead of packing these essential things it would be well within the purview of these volunteers to scrap their plans for boxing up these items, they should then go to their local Home Depot and start boxing generators. Could it possibly be that the water and generator end of the deal has been taken care of by other agencies more equipped to help in that area? Naked children are certainly happier when they have a warm generator and bottle of water to cuddle next to than clothing to provide protection from the elements.
