Polling data and the media

I really believe that big media is trying their hardest to manipulate this election. (Obviously with the fall out from the last election they know their power and are happy to use it to their advantage.) Notice these three polls that have come out within the last several days:

Zogby poll: Kerry up by three

CNN/USAToday/Gallup: Kerry up by three

Washington Post: Bush up by five

Well this is an interesting sample of the latest polls available. I'm cautious in reading any poll, since the polls taken in the Bible never turned out too well (cf. Matt 27:21ff), now when the data is as varying as the current polling is I must wonder aloud at the accuracies of these methods. We live in a federal constitutional republic and should rather gleeful that we indeed have a voice. Yet we should be forever wary of those who seek to inform that voice in one particular way.

The power of dissemenating information will win wars in the future. The pen is truly far more powerful than the sword in the information...one might say the binary is greater than the bullet.

I still think, today, that President Bush will be re-elected...though I reserve the right to change that position.
