Quick Hits
Whew! Been working on a Hebrew exegetical paper all weekend and getting close to wrapping it up; 8 hours in the library on Saturday can seriously play with your head. I've got a substantive post forthcoming with good theoblogy contained therein, but for now here are some quick hits:
- Planning a wedding is fun, planning a marriage is even more fun (I'm being serious here.) Even through all the strains, shocks, and successes I am finding myself more drawn to my beloved and more excited about our future together
- I'm realizing more and more that seminary is a safe place these days. While one isn't making tons of money (for the most part) while in seminary, it is a safe and comfortable place...I can see why many have trouble leaving. As I stood on the balcony of my residence place and looked across the fertile grass of the million dollar lawn into the mall area as the moon was rising in the east I became more certain that God has blessed my time at seminary and I am leaving this place for greater Kingdom purposes. Still we must always warn those who seek to delay their departures into that work which God has called them to, seminary is temporary your calling (if authentic) is forever.
- I am getting more and more blank stares by my fellow seminary students when speaking about N.T. Wright, Jürgen Moltmann, and Richard Swinburne. Not that I agree with everything they write or think, but we must at least make an effort to engage some of those writing in contemporary theology.
- I think the Steelers are going to Super Bowl...and that the Cowboys are going to have a great draft pick
- The airline industry is about as stable as a sixth grade girl
Thanks for reading, bigger posts forthcoming!
